Hi Newish member
About to change the anti freeze lost some when changing the stat
does this engine 200tdi suffer from air locks? when filled
any methode to do the job would be of great help

just leave yer rad cap off when you have done and leave the engine running, they force their way into the expansion chamber

leave the cap off until the water is nice and hot. say 10 minutes or so???
he dont mean leave the cap off forever.

Hi Done it now! how high should the needle settle on the gauge cab warmish
just changed the stat / antifreeze / temp pod, on tick over as on sorn at the moment

You will really need to load the engine to get a realistic temp reading as the fan spinning will shift enough air to cool it on tick over.

Hi Thinking of fitting electric fans just behind the grill will I need to remove the cowl inside the engine bay

yes, you need to remove the cowling and the viscous fan, the kenlowe for a disco fits engine side of the radiator
