Antifreeze sub zero temps

Hi guys

What mixture anti freeze would people recommend for landy to be in -20 to -30C? is it 50/50 with a minus 35 grade antifreeze.

Also should I block the radiator with a cover?

i think 50/50 is the max concerntration you can go for anyway. and yes i think this will go down to over -35.

A rad muff will help as will a fuel powered internal heater

Hi Paul, if you buy the VAG G12 Plus coolant you can mix up to 3 parts coolant to 2 parts water and it will protect down to -52.

It's pretty high spec stuff and was specifically designed to prevent head gasket failure in VAG engines.

You will need to flush all of the old coolant out of the engine first, preferably with a chemical cleaner and the thermostat out, as green coolant does not mix with the lilac G12+.
