I had the ace turned off and replaced its pump with an idler pulley. It did lean over if you pushed it hard on corners but was OK if you took that into account

Thinking of removing them I only use it off road is it worth doing

Would possibly fail MOT without them and be pretty wobbly /dodgy IMO.

Get shot of the ace and fit the traditional roll bars with the drop link disconnect thingies you can get for better articulation when playing ;)

I took mine off ,and its great off road , the car stays more level over the average stuff , but its a bit worse on road , still drive at the speeds i always have and it hasnst tipped over yet , oh and it passed the mot no probs . the early disco's and rrc's didnt have them anyway

Very true, but the MOT criteria seems to only be getting stricter and stricter, I would view ARB's as a safety feature, therefore if it was fitted from factory it should therefore be visible on a MOT inspection (they would be checking for play in bushes anyhow) so therefore should be fitted now....
