Hey, just wondering if anyone has fitted anti-roll / sway bars to an early d1 where they were not fitted as OE. They often come up on eBay and i've been tempted, but don't want to waste my time if there is a basic reason why they won't fit. Front bar is highest priority I guess.

Rear has maxi-drive air locker which may or may not complicate things.

Cheers,
Scott.

I've been driving a disco 1 tdi with no anti roll bars for about 6 months. It's a flamin' boat. Just replaced it with another that has what appears to be an uprated arb on the front and a standard one on the back. It's much much more stable on the road and cornering is way less scary. Still a bit scary mind:D

I recently took the arb's OFF my '98 Disco, as I was unhappy with the ride quality and I suspected that the arb's were overly thick and causing this problem.

Since taking them off the ride quality has improved, as expected and there is slightly more role, as expected.

Overall I prefer the current no-arb's compromise to the previous with arb one.

Neither way is great, you need to remember that these really aren't cars as such, so don't expect car-like handling and comfort.
