OK Folks... I've seen lots of references to the antis... but I am interested to know what the worst encounter anyone has had with them was.

I've been flagged down afetr coming out of alane by someone's house and subjected to a poorly thought out barrage of objections to 4x4s using the perfectly legit lane by his house... and a cyclist hurling abuse during our first outing.... but that's about it.

Any other stories?

na, they are all a bunch of softies really! :)

Had one women take note of our plates once... just laughed in her face.
Had one bloke tell me the lane was closed to motor vehicles, till i pointed out that was to be in October and it was still September. Difused that one.

Generally, if you come across them, I just smile and greet them as you would anyone else. Most of them find it hard to be horrible if your ULTRA nice :D I also find it quite funny.

I got told off when laning with 666george for turning around in a quiet cul de sac-not even a lane.I explained that i pay my road tax and i can drive on any road i choose. Then he moaned some more so i told the bloke where to go.DIckhead.

Like Griffy sez, be extremely polite & smiley, even in the face of abuse. It gives them nothing to work with & doesn't give them any ammo for later.

If they do get really, really het up, a chuckle doesn't go amiss just to send them totally apoplectic mind. :D

I've had constant Agro from the lad at work since buying my Disco:
C*ck extension - little man needs a big car - baby killer etc etc
had it all cant wait till one of em breaks doen and needs a tow.

Short lane a couple of miles from my house. Troundling along at about walking pace. When I get to the end, a very well to do lady in he 40's calls me a "fecking ****er"

I stopped and asked her why she saw fit to abuse me so. She went into a tirade about how the sign said that the lane was "unsuitable for motor vehicles".

I expalined that just because the sign said it was unsuitable, that didn't mean that motor vehicles wern't allowed. Also, it was an open by-way, and if she cared to look on my OS map, she could clearly see that, if not, phone the council and ask them.

I also pointed out that such language wasn't befitting of a true lady, at which point her face went red, her eyes nearly popped out of her fat head, and her language could have made a sailer blush.

I just laughed at her and told her that her parents must be sp proud to have brought up such an upstanding daughter before driving off giving her a cheerfull wave.

Maybe she was ****ed off that she had a fat arse?

Was confronted by a Farmer with a shot gun once, but we had made a wrong turn,
I apoligized................

While driving houndkirk moor we were coming to the end were the gate is just up the road from the fox house pub, when a bobble hatted woman launched into a foul mouthed tirade every other word was effin this and that and we were just w@@kers tearing up the countryside, after a few minutes of trying to expain its a legal byway she stormed off went through the gate then proceeded to open the boot of new shinny lexus 4x4 which along with alot of other ramblers cars were parked ON the lane, As we past her sat in the boot of her chelsea tractor taking her boots off we pointed out that the tirade she aimed at us must aplly to her aswell as she had driven down some of the lane to park there to which she replied NO IT DOESNT FOOK OFF

A few years ago a couple of us were going up stanedge, when reaching the top where the pole is we encounted a large group of our bobble hatted friends walking in the same direction they all moved to one side to let us past(so we waved and thanked them) except for one bloke who decided he would walk in the middle of the lane to stop us passing, he continued to walk a few yards and then stop and turn round and glare at us as if we were the children of satan he continued to do this for about 2o mins, in this time we had only travelled a few hundred yards so i got out my vehicle to politely ask why? but got no response( we could have passed him by driving off the track but i dont like giving the antis any more ammo) this carried until he came across a large puddle which he decided to walk around so i continued at the same speed and passed him, but a bloke in our group who wasnt best pleased with this guy decided to speed up a little, wetting the guy through, not something i condone or recommend anyone else doing but he was acting like a twot

Ha ha ha, not that I'd usually condone that behaviour :rolleyes:, but as a legitimate response to his being a tw@t that's priceless! :D
