Ive managed to find a guy that will cut me two lengths of box to size for about £30. Trouble is he,s only got 50 x 100. Does that give too much slack between the body mounts and door pillar ? If so could I make it do the job with some kind of packing ?

What you talkin bout Willis ?:D Can I just pack with 10 mm plate on the inside between the box and body mounts and keep the outer tight to the door pillar ?

Yes you can someone on here done exactly that, or you can spend a bit more money and buy the correct size box :D
Do you think I'd be driving this old heap if I had money ?:D Ive got some 120 x 60 box cut to length for £30. Just have to do something with bottom of door pillar return, either cut it off or bend it straight.

You said you was going to get smaller box than that
Thats the exact size i used fits perfectly, i cut the bottom of 'A' and 'B' pillars off and then welded them to box section.

Your right, I found a better source for the box section , I just rang a local small business and got lucky with 120 x 60. Reckon I got a bargain.:D What exactly are the A and B pillars ?
