Another reverse light question

hi again.

Bought a defender a few weeks ago and noticed the reversing light wasnt working and iv only just got round to looking into it. I checked the bulb and no problem. then lifted the centre seat to check the switch and seen this... Is this for the switch or something else. Its a loom coming from the centre panel to a connector but its got a fair few pins sooooo.... any ideas? ill look deeper tomorrow when theres some light :)

thats your diagnostic socket (buy hawkeye for your vehicle plug it in there follow instructions and sort your own faults ) remove centre panel on seat box black one pictured and you will see switch and wiring on passenger rear of gear box,switches can fail you can check it to see if it making a circuit when rev selected,and that it has feed to it
