Another newbie with questions - sorry

Did you opt for declared/ agreed value with these specialist insurers? If you take view the value instead of leaving it open ended, it might make a difference. Your landy in terms of age is somewhere between a current model and not quite an older classic car, hence the high quote. The seating capacity will push the cost as well no getting away from that. Best way to compare these is try a telephone quote from a mainline insurer to compare (Arriva, Direct Line, LV etc.). I'm with Heritage and its only costing me £80 off fully comp; but again I've got a 33 year old SWB.

That's silly money. Maybe the £600 odd is as good as you can get save for opting for 3rd Party F&T.

Don't rub it in! I'm finding the combination of ex-MOD/9 seats/needing class 1 business cover and a candy that may have been modified quite a bit more expensive to cover...

Welcome to the forum Nick, you'll certainly find a Defender helps building your faith. You'll be praying it starts in a morning, stops at junctions and when mot time comes it'll be either wailing and nashing of teeth or sacrificing the fatted calf:D

Look at getting a tracker or similar fitted as well if for nothing more than peace of mind
