It's all a bit odd, the photos of the inside show doors open and the keys in the ignition, the owner MUST know something about it - it's all a bit too obvious. If this bull bloke is a dodgy tealeaf he'd have just driven it off!

Reckon that's most likely. The motor is on the insurance database still. Shame, I used to be able to 'abuse' me position & git PNC checks done for rilly spurious reasons. Cun't nowadays.

This is possibly the most pointless scam going - that's what i don't get, what's the point - he doesn't even ask for any money up front, it is just a complete waste of time!

You can write to DVLA and request the owners details. you need a good reason. Failing to stop after he dented your parked landrover would be a good reason. And they will supply you with the name and address of the registered owner.
