I recently purchased a Drive Flange from JGS4X4. According to there compatibility chart on the website it should fit all Defender 90/110 rear axles.
However it was a 24 spline flange. After several exchange of emails and phone calls and me explaining to them that 110 Defenders have Salisbury axles and 10 spline Flanges they then said after a pow wow "if I scrolled down onto the next page on the website it states for all Rover axles". They didn't seem to know all 110 rear axles up to 2004 are Salisbury axles with 10 splines.
We then agreed to go halves for the proper flange. I then get an email totally different. They asked me to send the 24 spline back at my cost and I am asked to pay what amounts to the full price for the 10 spline. Return postage would have cost €10 normal post or €16 Registered. Not only do they not know Defenders but don't seem to understand English.
After complaining to them by phone they have now changed the compatibility chart on there website. It now states their part is not compatible for the rear diff.
But if they didn't know 110 Defenders have Salisbury axles on the rear , what do they know about Defenders?
I should also mention when I called Paddocks I got the correct part straight off and for less.

my salisbury is 24 spline, but i couldnt fit the heavy duty flanges as the outer diameter of the spigot which fits inside the hub is 2mm bigger on the hd flange compared to the oem one. in contact with supplier now.

I have a 110 300tdi with rear Salisbury axle and on my trips have always taken spare rear halfshafts obtained from Paddocks - but each one has 10 splines on one end and 24 on the other - can anyone advise if this is correct.

Think the best thing to do is remove one from your Defender and have a look. I'm no mechanical wizard by any means but I have managed to change one.
Would be a shame to carry them around and find they don't fit when you need them. I want you ready for the next Morocco trip.

I beleive so, not counted them but the drive flange end is 24, and the other end are larger splines, so guessing 10 :)

AFAIK 24spline 200tdi onwards, 10 spline 90/110 and before, IIRC on paddocks site it has the "up to" and "after" vin no on those parts.

Bit of a coincidence because I've just this minute finished sending an email to this company - nothing to do with your drive flange but to do with steering lock stop bolts which in reality are about 5-8mm too short to be of any practical use. In the end I made my own and I await their response.

Mike the 110 is raring to go and you are right of course - and thanks Tim but all very confusing.
You still going in November with your son? I have been organising my photo's from the last trip, got the bug again. Don't think I will be able to wait till 2016. Might have to do something next April.

Yes - but a second vehicle isn't ready yet although ferry to Santander booked - its either a 90 200tdi still with its back tub off awaiting lots of chassis welding or another we have not bought yet - very happy to go next spring and can we get more on board.

Hi Ken, I have the bug to go again this coming April but will wait till near Christmas before committing myself as a definite. I'm sure once posted around that time we will pick up a couple more. 2016 seems too far away.
Mine is going into the garage next week to try and sort out this vibration problem. Everything was fine till I had the clutch replaced.
