Got by lady driver the other night she cut across front of me trying to cross 4 lanes only cosmetic damage now they are trying to write off disco because of age even though it is in good nick. I will try and upload photo of damage but looking to try and keep it as I could try and sort it out myself it's second disco to be written off in 6 years last one was a rust free 300tdi got hit when a guy had heart attack and hit all along o/s and twisted chassis.

Buy it back for a cheap price, make sure it's listed as a no-fault ... fix it ... drive it ...

Ye they are crafty. I had a similar problem with a golf, I had just had it valued for part ex at 4K then a car did 360 in to the side of me. They wanted to right it off but I argued had an independent assor in to look at it. He said 1k worth of damage max no reason not to repair. Insurance said they go by number of panels damaged not value of repair, eventually I won but it took time and effort. If I were you I would keep it, apparently they break up the vehicles and sell the parts making a mint!

I went TPF&T as the other options were just silly money and the insurers at the bottom feeding end will always look for the lowest possible payout.

I feel for you. You could try getting an accident claim lawyer to go after the uninsured loss on the other driver?

When mine got wrote off after truck rolled bk on me n dented bonnet. I got 1500 quid n keep the car 60 quid for bonnet and vic test.

They wrote mine off because they dont want gas guzzlers on the road.

Well good news the insurance company of other party accepted liability with nearly £1400 damage plus the cost of leasing a brand new land cruiser the damage was repaired and now all sorted so well chuffed.
