That will be LR tool no.1 then. Most useful tool in the box......:D

Cheers

Is this big enough :)

yeah, cheers. It is going to be slow and not as detailed as a lot of the threads I have read recently. Certainly not as good but I will do my best.
Well, we'll see. You tend to get drawn in. You say to yourself, "I've done that, so I might as well sort that out too". And if you do a good job of one part, you don't want to do a shoddy job of another part because that's going to let your previous work down.................and so you get drawn in..........probably :) Judging by the workshop and tools available you like to do a decent job.

A bearing destroyer
Can't be spinning smoothly with that sort of precision engineering

Got to admit I never realised there was a date on them. I only got them a few months ago though and I seem to be going through them pretty quickly. Does nothing on an old Landy come apart easily?

Avoid all temptation to grind with these discs, any side pressure can make make them suddenly explode. Im not usually a goggle person, just tend to squint my eyes but with these discs, i would wear eye protection at the very least. Looking forward to the build.

Thanks Mick, it will be quite slow and not as good as some of those going on now but I think it will be OK at the end. As for the discs I always use a full face mask. Most things I am happy with but cutting with cutting discs scares the **** out of me to be honest and I seem to be doing a lot of it recently.

Not done much this week but thought I would 'quickly' take out the floor and the seat box. Took all day!

Started looking at removing the electrics on the tub but decided it looked like too much hard work so will have a go tomorrow, possibly :)

Unscrew the lights, push sockets through body panels, then down through inner wheel arches. Job done. ;)

Well I got the tub off today

The back of the chassis looks good

But around the springs and shocks has a few rotten bits

So my question is how bad is it in the grand scheme of things? Is it perfectly acceptable to cut out and weld in patches?

Cheers. Yeah, it looked ok before the hammer. :)

Once I manage to get it outside and jetwashed I will go at it with a wire brush as well as give it another ****ting.

Been looking at chassis spares so it looks like I can replace the spring seats and weld the rest. Depends if I find owt else I suppose..

Sounds like a good plan. Give the outriggers a good looking over. They are a common rot area, but are replaceable like the spring seats.
