Well it made it to our place with no fuss, towed behind a Tdi 90.

Now that we are able to look over it, a few things have shown themselves. Firstly, it seems very original, the correct radiator is fitted, I can't see anything unusual about it that shouldn't be there, apart from a defender style windscreen squirter.

The engine does turn although the battery is totally discharged.

It also will need a new starter dog (capstan winch style) any suggestions?

The tyres are also all perished, and the rims are odd. On looks like a trailer or champ rim or something, it has bolts on for a hubcap. One wheel is in SEB green but looks like a very late long wheelbase rim. The speedo is a lwb item too, and I suspect SEB specified 7.50x16 tyres. It would probably have had a set of avons on, or latterly michelin XS tyres.

The chassis needs a couple of outriggers and back x-member but otherwise looks pretty solid. The bulkhead will need more attention to its lower edges, but the top is fine.

There doesn't seem to be much by way of electrics but that could just be due to lack of battery power.

This is the list so far of bits we will need for my 88.

4X LWB series 3 type wheelrims
5x 7.50 x16 tyres, either avon TM, or Michelin XS pattern.
Rear crossmember
Bulkhead outriggers
Sidelights (flat type Lucas L638)
Indicators
Drivers door bottom and both door tops
Stop/tail lamps (large wipac ones WP842)
Footwells
Door pillars
Plain hard top with plan sides (can swap/part ex for the one we have here)
Winch type starter dog
Wheel cylinders
Clutch cylinders
Rear springs
Shock absorbers
Elephant hide seats

If anyone can help please let me know.

nice motor , it'll give her something to do now x factors finished!

I actually don't even watch that tv show, and I don't even know how it looks like, and not interested thanks :)

Actually, we never watched tv :)

I am looking forward to work on the Land Rover, and have Siegfried on the road soon! :director:

I have 5 7.50 hi-milers extra grip jobby on LWB rim's, and i also have a plain hard top.
Im just the other side of swindon...£100 take's the lot away.

Hi,

Please can you send me some photos, we won't be able to collect until after christmas though. Are the tyres legal?

Thankyou. :D

Tyre's have loads of life left in them, i'll try and get some pic's posted, but i cant promise anything as my pc keeps chucking a wobbly.
Dont suppose you have a canvas hood to fit a 109??....could do a deal :D

Hi,
That sounds good but would like to see the pattern. Also the condition of the roof.
Sadly we don't have a 109 canvas, as Dans 109 is a hardtop too.

:)

Tyres are the same pattern as tyhe tyre's in the pic.
The hard top is in white and has a small ding in the back, but nothing that wouldn't knock out.
