before i type the saga i want to just i am sorry for the next questions as to some they maybe silly but to someone like me with very little car mechanic knowlege and understanding they are not.

Was driving today in the heat windows down looking good no worries.... then i got home. i parked the rr on the drive and came back an hour later with a large wet patch visible on the drive? so i had look to try and track and noticed it was near the coolant bottle. so i slowly opened the coolant bottle up and the pressure began to release and the water started to drip again. i traced it to a small diameter black pipe clipped to the side of the coolant bottle which has an open end with an angled cut - i thought like an overflow pipe

so does the coolant have an overflow pipe? should i worry now? engine has had all the head gasket and seals etc done about 6 months ago before i got it. the temp was fine and no messages on the dash. I have left my RAVE disk in work so i cant look at the information in their so i have turned to the best source i know.. you guys.

thanks again

monitor it closely, fill it in the morning when its cooled down and get all the air locks out

until it happens again its impossible to say what it is!!

on the side of the coolant bottle is a pipe that runs to the top of the rad take it off and make sure it is not blocked when you refill the coolent take it off at rad end and make sure water is comming out of pipe in rad if it is leaving it running till it gets up to temp make sure thp thin pipe is getting hot j

like gav said, top it up in the morning bleed it through and keep a close eye on it,hopefully just something simple like a faulty expansion tank cap or partially blocked rad,but keep us informed

Did you have the aircon on? You'll get a puddle from the condensation in the a/c unit in the car itself. Drips all the time but you don't normally notice it when you're driving, only when you've stopped for a while and you then notice the puddle under the car. If it was sloping towards where the coolant bottle, it would appear to come from there.
