not just software though, i like to be totally honest. tbh my main question was am i asking too much for it as it stands?

No - not asking too much. I only wish I'd seen yours a few weeks a go - I would have bought it.

Anyway - I think you should get close to £2000, the mot helps things, but still worth the money.

Ask yourself this... What would YOU pay for a P38 with no MOT, and no actual personal knowledge of it's history or faults, besides the seller's patter and whatever quick inspection you can give it at a viewing?

When you get a figure in mind, advertise it at that. Try to view your car as a buyer would, not as you would as the seller.

You may think it's worth £xxxx, but you KNOW it. A seller doesn't. And without MOT, is taking a big risk.

But this is my point, its not patter, i have receipts for everything i have bought. I paid £630 for it with no mot, no working suspension or lpg. it owes me £1100 as it is

I think you've answered your own question here. You paid £630 for it without an MOT. Its still a P38 without an MOT, irrespective of what you done to it. A new windscreen is required which is an insurance job or loads of money and an abs light which is potentially loads more money.

I don't wish to be harsh but the bottom is falling out of the second hand thirsty 4x4 market. Even tidy fully mot'd P38's are being given away, so unroad worthy one's are really going to stuggle. Good luck with it.

something else you have to consider is this, it WAS a 4.0, its now a 4.6. has the V5 been changed? under insurance that will be a mod for sure.

you still have lots to do from the sound of it and people will have to spend more money than you think.

a recorded 212000 on the clock, but you dont know for sure that the 4.6 was new or used when fitted. it might have already done 150,000 when fitted. never assume an engine has less miles unless you have a receipt from a supplier stating the date of purchase and if new or used.

there are 95's and 97's on auto trader with 12 months MOT for just over £1000. be prepared to get a knocking on your price.

Worst add i've seen on ebay - focusing on negative & a vehicle not on the road is just spares attached to each other

You may have something fine but it won't sell at that price, start an auction beginning @ 99 pence for 10 days on a Thursday near end or beginning of month say 11 AM and it will end on a Sunday morning in the which is the day with most potential buyers surfing & the time of month where cash is available.

Scrap the text and only say probably need a new windscreen to pass MOT no rust or other known problems
Selling due to financial circumstances - NOBODY tell the truth on ebay or outside for that sake (Apart from you)

When asked questions only provide positive details & don't say it's DIY with ebay spares - everything works - doesn't it?

Things sold at ebay auctions do not require a return policy - Sold is sold

It's always a gamble with 99p auctions and you will not see the price until the auction end, many bids are in the last second so don't get scared - the longer it can hold a low price the higher the end price in my experience and i've done 1000s of auctions - not cars though
Don't get tempted to get someone to bid it up for you, as said the longer at really low price may give you a pleasant surprise.

Remember pictures & timing is God on ebay - no rush - schedule the auction time for 6p and you have time to polish it to perfection.

Don't be afraid but don't hang me if it only realise what's worth

Best of luck whatever you do:p

PS: PM me if you decide for auction and i will give you another bit of advise
