Took the floor out today to change the fuel tank, and I found... well, fresh air. Is this needing immediate attention or can I put the floor back down and pretend its all fine.

There will be a chassis swap coming up later this year or early next.

what did you expect to see with the floor out ?its not new but not that bad ,quite std on older landies

i've seen worse. give it all a good whack wi 'ammer and if nowt falls off it'll be right.

is there a flap at the bottom of the bulkhead that the floor butts up against? Mind you its not like I'm going to tap dance on it.

Wasnt too bad. Finding all the spot welds was the worst bit. Take the opportunity to clear all the crap out of the bottom of the bulkhead bracket while you're at it. Mine had about half a dozen captive nuts festering away in it and the drainage hole was blocked with rust and mud etc.

I clamped the new panel at the bottom, using the holes in the bulkhead bracket as a reference and tacked it there, then sorted the alignment and tacked the top. I used one handed joiners clamps and mole grips to pull everything else into line before welding it all up.

I plated the front of the bulkhead outrigger while I was at it, because an inquisitive screwdriver left me little option.

There's the problem .. there was nowt wrong with it till you introduced a foreign object and getting all inquisitive like .. like using cotton buds in ears .. DON'T DO IT .. It would maybe have lasted years and kept you in blissful ignorance .. ;)
