Hi all, when I bought my series I noticed that someone had made a bit of a hash at converting over to an alternator from a generator and had left the regulator all still wired in, so I decided to sort it out properly, thing is I wanted to keep the regulator still in place and not cut any wires so would be easy to convert back at any stage if I wanted to. So here's what i did.
I made a little metal plate to fix the connectors to and cut a couple of bits of acrylic with a rubber sandwich.
I was then going to bolt somewhere close to the original regulator but then decided to mount it directly behind and used two roofing screws which all fitted perfect, Result!
Hopefully this should all work, connected a wire from the alternator to the new connector block thingy I just made, and fed another small wire from the alternator to the connector going to the charge light in the dash, originally connected to the D port in the regulator and a final wire from the alternator to the feed on the solenoid.
If I have wired something wrong please let me know!!!!
