Alternator bolts?

Can anyone tell me what length bolt I need and part number please? OR, like some forum members write, is it a short (maybe 30mm ?) M8 bolt that threads into the engine alloy casting with no nut on the end? If so, I hope the thread has not stripped out? It would be better for me if it is a long bolt with nut.

Thanks neilly and discool for confirmation that its a short M8 bolt that threads into the engine casing. I just hope the threads are still there. I'll take a range of lengths with me from 30 to about 50mm in case some of the front thread is no good. I ask all this because the vehicle is a long way from home and I cannot just go out and check it myself.
