Anyone come across a product as good / highly rated as the Disklok, but, in smaller sizes?

I'd really like one on my little classic, but, the Small DiskLok is too big for the wheel, i need something smaller.

What size wheel do you have? I have a 13" on my 110 and the disklok works OK.

I wouldn't bother with a steering lock, my 110 was pinched with one on and tests show they all come off in little more than a minute, Disklok included. Have a look at alternatives like fully encased pedal locks. LandyWatch :: Safe-T-pedal

Was your steering turned on full lock when it was nicked? Was it a disklok you had fitted at the time it was stolen?

Which tests were these?

Every test i've seen on the Disklok takes a very skilled thief 2 minutes to remove it.

Thanks Ratty, the Autolok 2000 looks like it may work.

Tazz - 100% sure the small Disklok won't work, i bought one and locked it on then lifted it straight off

The small Disk-lok fits 35-39 cm diameter steering wheels.

The medium Disk-lok fits 35-39 cm diameter steering wheels.

The large Disk-lok fits 41.5-44 cm diameter steering wheels.

There's a Autolok 2000 for sale on Gumtree for £15 pick-up in Sheffield if that helps.;)

Less than two minutes for a Disklok. I had the Metro Ultima, probably cut through the steering wheel.

There are DIY ways to improve the Disklok, there is a thread in LandyWatch in the Security advice forum.

Oh and Autolock 2000 is on those test, removed in 16 seconds....... !!!

In what way do you think a pedal lock will stop your landy being nicked?

You don't even have to remove em to get away in the vehicle

Clearly it can still be towed away but I don't see how it can be driven under its own steam without removal when all three pedals are completely encased ?

put the vehicle in gear, release the handbrake and then crank, you can then go up through the gears. You can get around the accelerator in about 30 seconds but I'm not about to post how to on here. Brakes, handbrake works fine cos the tealeaf aint gonna worry about buering up someone elses vehicle. Clutch... who needs a clutch when you can change gear using engine revs.

You seem to be quoting what you read on the internet and not what you actually know.

Actually I have, I'm pretty sure my 1959 S2 won't idle at 15 mph after crashing the gearbox even with the choke out, not without considerable effort and a lot of stalling. The tdi certainly won't. TD5 with anti stall yes possibly but how many car thieves are going to chance a getaway at that speed! Other possibility I guess is if you have a hand throttle. It's still going to be a dangerous and erratic drive. However my point wasn't that a pedal lock is a sure proof way of preventing theft, just that they are a considerably harder to remove than a steering lock and car thieves are less likely to have come across the Land Rover specific designed ones.

Landys are often pushed away from where they are parked cos starting them up is too noisey. They are then started further down the road out of earshot. A large number of landys are also towed away rather than driven. In either case it makes the pedal locks pretty useless.
