Some low life scum bag broke into my Landy last night.
Fortunately they failed to start her.
Just waiting for the BiB to arrive, but first look see.
They've broken the rear quarter window to gain access. Smashed the ignition barrel to try & start it. not sure if they've cut any wires yet...
But they failed to see the battery isolator switch.
Which is why I think its still on the drive.

No work for me today then.
Window to replace & new ignition barrel to fit.
I hope it stops raining

Take care of your Landy
T.

Sorry to hear this man.

By the rear quarter window you don't mean the narrow one on the back end do you? Did they access the rear door lock from there?

Glad they didn't get away with the lannie.

Fit a disklok. The noise they'd have to make to try and get one off would be incredible. At which point it's time for you to man up and take on some low-lives or leave it to the clean-up boys who wear police uniforms ;)

Thats the one, left hand side glass intact on the bench seat. Then just reach in & open the rear door from the inside...
Window glass now re-fitted & new ignition barrel.
Removed the steering wheel last night & installed a "baby monitor".
Was listening to it all night while trying to sleep (not easy), turned it off at 04:30 this morning when the birds started singing...
Crowbar was ready by the side door...Just incase they needed a hand to open the door officer

So now deciding do I fit a disklok type thing or a FIRKIN LOUD alarm?

A few weeks ago, someone had repeated attempts at mine.
Def. fit a disklok, with wheels on full lock when left.

Also look at :-
SAA5020 - PIR Siren Alarm with Remote Keyfob - Yale UK
or something similar.

It's loud, cheap and no wires to cut etc.
A security parking bollard/post also helped stop them from towing it out.

Driveway alarms | driveway alerts | parking posts | parking bollards | Ultra Secure Direct | Ultra Secure Limited | Ultra Secure | Rural Security | Perimeter Security | Wireless Security | Battery Perimeter Beams | Temperature Alerts | Water Leakage or similar - plenty of stuff that might help

Previous post was just a few ideas of stuff commercially available.
Get your plan together of how you are going to try to stop them.
In the meantime use what ever you can. Be creative
In the time after 1st attempt before I got me security properly sorted I used anything from trip wires, chained wheelie bins balanced (awkward to move and make a lot of noise), rat traps where fingers might be wanderin, 240v, anything that gives you an edge...
I parked our second car in front of me landie at the time. The only thing is they still had a go at me 110 even with it blocked in. They would have towed me other car out of the way if they had got past the other stuff.

In my situation they came one night, missed the next, then came the one after that, left if for a week, then started the same pattern, so expect them back any time soon as your landie will still be on their list.

The thieves are like rats - once they get a taste for it - they WILL be back.
You either have to kill them or stop them - rats that is

It took me a fortnight of no activity before I started sleeping properly, as every sound makes you think are they having another go and you get ready for a show down.

sorry to see more theves at it agane i find securing the battery box top and haveing a proper key isolater works well
