Never done it before.

Would my standard tyres cope with most stuff, or would i need to buy proper off road tyres.

Tyres currently on atm are Pirelli Scorpion ST's

Also, I'm assuming I need to take the bib off etc.

And.....are Range Rovers any good off-road? Or is a Defender 90 going to be aiding me escape all day?

depends.Your rangie will surprise you as standard. What year, engine n model you got?.I did 2 pay n plays on road tires, and loads of laning in mine. The front valance and aythiong else that hangs low will be a snag.

Ive been laning a couple of time with a lad in a thor injuned p38.Was fine.Went to a pay n play with him.He was fine apart from damaging the brand new exchaust and popping a spot lamp out. There will be bods on here who say dont take it off road cos things will break.Bollocks.Yes things might break. If your carefull you are less likely to break stuff.I have my rangie almost purely for off roading, ive not broken much.

although a 90 will get through more than your rr.Soz.they are better off road. But id rather be in a rangie, more comfy place to be when ya stuck.

I sat in a couple of 90's before getting my rangey. I'm a big boy and they just werent comfortable at all.

I was assuming that some things would be liable to breaking and I I'm prepared to accept it. Sheet happens.

Well, I'll give it a try anyway and see whats what.

Cheers.

defenders are good off road, not for usual car type driving.Rangies can do a bit of both.A disco is somewhere in between.Have you done any off roading?Take your motor for a bit of gentle laning, itll teach you what you can and cant do.

green laning is using byways ie driving tracks which are similar to footpaths, bridlepaths and the like. Off road i take to mean pruivate land used with permission or pay n play days or clubs challenges etc.

Yes, but a couple of my mates keep saying it's just a big comfy thing, wont do off-road properly
take yer mates with ya.

I shall. Anything special done to that one?

Notice he only got one exhaust too.

I've also seen some replies on here somewhere about these having problems wading....

If you are in Oxford, there's loads of byways around... do you know the Ridgeway?

also you can go downt to Salisbury and play in the plains where the army trains, of course you cant go in when the flags are up and they are on training.

Yeah loads! He pimped it for the road and got bored with that!Had 22's and HID lights and that exhaust was a day old till he squashed it at that site. Also big stereo system.Nice motor i wouldnt have gone in that, but my old ****ter is the one in me avatar pic.Hardly pristine.Petrol engines dont like wading. However you can see how deep that one went above.Try http://www.paynplay.co.uk/ for places to take your motor.go with someone else and it'll be better.

LOTS of fun to be had both laning and off-roading in your Disco; it will suprise you how capable it is!! It would be a good idea to learn a few basic 'do's and don'ts' before you go playing; just to keep yourself out of trouble! ;)

By the way; if you're taking it anywhere bumpy, I'd take the side-steps off, before nature does it for you! ;)
