Hi. Just a question. I have some alarm faults / central locking issues. . . But in order to attemp to unravel it .. is there a meaning for the alarm horn sometimes beeping once when i operate the door lock? . . . . (Scanned RAVE for answers without much success)

Thanks In Advance

Nick.

Ah! This makes perfect sense! As i have an intermittent "door open" warning light also ....

Thank You SO MUCH ... there may be more questions!... but this gives me something to eliminate before i move onto the next problem ...

Cheers Chaps!

If its a fl2 it will be a door latch thats faulty, an irregular issue with them,

FL1 i think have a push button like a defender/disco/rrc

This may seem like a silly question. But are the latching switches INSIDE the door lock/solenoid mech? I was expecting to find a push button 'earthing' switch like on an old fashioned motor for the interior lights ...

Again, I appreciate all the replies ...

Integrated into the door lock mechanisms

Best short term solution is to remove door cards and give the locks a darn good soaking in WD40 or similar to try and clean out the old grease, grit and snot from the locks (making sure you move the locks through open/closed as you go), then grease the lock mechanism with spray lithium grease or better still a graphite or teflon lube. It may be enough to help a tired microswitch for a few days/weeks and buy you time to work out which one is playing up.

Bonnet switch is to the rear by the scuttle plate on the driver's side.
