I have a 2000 4.6 vogue on lpg and both key fobs have stopped working and the engine has been imobilised and to drive it I have to enter the code using the key.
Have taken it to a land rover garage and they say all is wrong is that the alarm has been activated but they can not deactivate it. You can not resynch the keys while the alarm is active so it is a vicious circle does anyone have any ideas please ?

Thanks in advance

This diagnostic tool (not sure of the name) shows that the alarm is armed but if you change it to disarm nothing happens. Does anyone have any ideas as they are talking about a new ECU

hi trevor, try a p.m. to irishrover, he will tell you what you can and cannot do. but i would think it more likely to be your becm..

The becm has gone into "Lockout" & "Alarmed" status.
You have two choices:
1.
Get someone withe unlocking software to unlock the becm and reset the above issues.

2.
Get a new becm at around £900 and get it programmed and fitted to your car.

When it goes into the above condition, the becm shuts down hard and will not accept EKA or resynchronation.

How do I find someone with the unlocking software?
I am in Yorkshire is there any one near here who could do it?
I am not mechanical in any way I am just a humble programmer so I know nothing about engines and the like.

Hi I have just read your post as I arrived back in Ireland this evening.
There is Rick the Pick, who works from Brighton and Andy R who is down Hetrfordshire way and possibly another one or two members. Good chance one of the guys will pop their heads above the wall....if you are still stuck, send me a PM.
