can anyone help, i have a march 97 discovery 2.5 tdi. the alarm has gone haywire. if i try to unlock it with either the fob or the key it will unlock and then lock again. when i can eventually get in the immobiliser is active and won't start. i have tried the eka code but does not stop immobiliser allthough red led light goes out.

could be a stuck solanoid in the driver door just a guess
i have a td5 but have read of one person who's fuel cut-off had had triggered something to do with alarm but that was a defender he pressed it and he says it disabled the immobliser or reset it (should only need doing in a crash)
depend if your car i turning over i am grabbing at straws if you have any damp that will nacker you up big time good luck anyway

Ok, if you unlock with the key then you will set the alarm off.
If the drivers door pin won't stay down when locked and pops up (bounce) it's either the lock spring broken and if so the door pin will drop down a bit or the master C L actuator in the drivers door requires a slight ajustment on it's mountings.
A good battery in the fob is required to remobilise the engine and the fob must be by the ignition switch, if you can lock/unlock via the fob then your fob battery is ok.

yes it will unlock ok with fob but will then just lock again without me doing anything. if i use the fob a second time it unlocks and lets me in but the immobiliser is still active. when i try to enter the eka code, every time i turn the key the locks go into over drive locking and unlocking to their hearts content

One thing try resyinc the system by pressing the lock button 4 times while standing next to your vehicle. Then one thing at a time although they may be related so firstly have look into the relocking issue so I would go for the C L actuator it may be a simple ajustment or the actuator's micro switches may be faulty.
