aircom removal 200tdi - please help

hi im after abit of help removing the aircon from my 200tdi im no macanic i just like to give things a try
dose any1 have any info on this or hints & tips

i dont need it its gotta go
& if any1 wants any bits i take off let me know aswel

Well you should first have the gas removed and disposed of, but it might have leaked out allready.
Then just unbolt the bits, but I would not bother its too much work for no gain?

Id air con is Air Conditioning

and Air Com is Air Communications

im just takin all the bits i ont need out (it will take up 2 much space in dash 4 wat i want), car its a toy not summat 4 takin family out 4 day

ok cheers, well i am new i guess i ll have 2 get used 2 it.

i couldnt find much on google but i suppose you just need to remove the components. As suggested about get the unit degassed 1st. then you have the unit infront of the rad to remove. all the pipework back to the cab. the compressor which runs off the drivebelt. get a new drive (non aircon) belt to bypass the pulley. best to remove pulley too. dont know what else there is. i guess you can leave the stuff behind the dash for now, aslong as all the pipework is out and the gas unit is removed it will be safe. i think?

yeah thats what i thought i just wantet 2 make sure there were no hidden hazards or anything that was gunna cost me
while i have the car in little bits all over the place i was gunna bobtail aswel dose any 1 have any step by step guide or anything?? cheers guys thanks G

google should throw up a load of bobtail guides. have you taken the disco offroad yet? prob worth going to some pay and plays and talking to bobtail owners.

There is a nice 2door 3.9efi bobbed rangie down the road from me for sale. 3-4" lift. it makes some noise!
