Hi All.

Having problems with my driver side rear bag. The bakelite guide at the bottom breaks. I took it offroad over the weekend and the first uphill I took, I just heard a bang. Got out and found the pieces lying in the road and my Rangie looked like a Porsche.

The same thing happened with my previous trip. LR replaced the bag free of charge as they say it can't break.

The funny thing is from the way it broke this time, it looks like it broke during the down travel of the wheel. I checked the shock and the bag has about 70mm more travel than the shock, so I'm really confused.

Please Help ! ! ! !

Spoke to the local expert today.
He said if you drive on the extended setting and the car goes airborne, the pressure inside the bag gets to high.
He suggested that I rather use the setting between hi-way and extended.
Any comments?????

You would have to be airborne for a bloody long time. Think there is a speed limit for driving full extended, it is not fast enough to get airbourne unless you drive over a cliff. The extended setting is for low speed ground clearance not for yumping over ant hills.

Not so fast actually. That is flat out in 1st low. Up a 50 - 60 degree slope. With lots of axle twisters. Friend with a Cruiser with lockers only made it on the 3rd try.
