Hi mack

The old seal was fooked but it was the pump that was on the blink.
Not running for long enough so not making enough air

this sounds like a def seal, the same as i had, it took ages to get a tank full of air from empty but when full it was fine, the seal in my compressor was so knackered i was amazed it worked at all, £80 and 20 mins all fixed.

where is the seal on the compressor?

mine sometimes takes ages to go up, but then only takes a few seconds other times.. WTF??

what could this be?

cheers,

Sam

thanks for that matey! i'll have a dam good read of that a bit later. i just took my pump out, and held my finger over the end while it was on, and it was making pressure, but not loads. what pressure is it supposed to get upto? it goes up eventually, but this morning it went up like normal.

any other ideas, cos i think my pump is ok..

also, i couldn't hear any hissing from underneith just now either..

bummer!

cheers,

hi mate,
i got a recon kit for my pump of ebay, takes about 20 min to fit and it work fine now..
the old seal was so bad but wood pump car up very slow...
if i was u i wood try that...
good luck

The pump should manage 10 barg (145 psi) air pressure as that is the max rated pressure of the system.

I suspect my pump is on the worn side, in my case I can hear it running ,not all the time, but most of the time, and it is vibrating thru the cab even though mounting rubbers aren't shot.

Hope Santa is bringing me one of those rebuild kits from eBay...

just ordered a teflon seal from ebay too.. fingers crossed thats what it is eh? he he
