If you have an air lock and like me you cannot get the thermostat bleed screw out because some gorilla has swung off it!

well despair not I have a solution

1. Take a gallon of water with you (better be safe than sorry)
2. Drive forwards up steep hill (35ish degs upwards) and leave engine on
3. Take expansion lid off
4. Take radiator bleed screw out
5. Fill radator till water pours out of expansion tank.
6. Screw Bleed screw back in (dont cross thread it)
7. Screw expansion tank lid on
8. Get into a warm cab, drive home, Turn off and check levels when cold and add or remove to the indicator.

Central heating fitting are your friend here . I was told the official way to do it was to unbolt the header tank and tie it up as high as poss and bleed off the stat housing plug . Whatever official means ....

easiest way is to remove thermostat 2 x 10mm headed bolts ,stuff rag up below plug ,get good chisel and take off plug top then with small chisel pickle thread out by hitting outside in
