Rite ive finaly got round to sorting a snorkel for my landy... i went for one of the one piece safari style ones of ebay. trouble came wen i looked at fitting it to the air intake...... i have no existing air intake on the side of my defender as the instructions suggest and at the moment my air filter box is just sucking in air from the engine bay..... my plan is to use plastic solvent weld plumbing pipe to link the air box to the snorkel, obviously gona cut a hole in the wing..... but im not sure on what diameter pipe to use dint wana strangle ma emgine..... i was thinkin either 2" or 3" pipe wat do ya rekon?

Thanks guys

63mm flexi silicon piping.marries straight to air filter etc. And to turbo. Not cheap but will def seal. Don't get the cheap stuff it just splits when you jubilee clip it.

Your rite not cheap at 75quid a meter!! but it does look like the real deal im gona havta think about this one cheers chunky

So u say that the cheaper version on there is defenetly not an option then? Im not normaly a cheap skate wen it comes to my landy but that silicon pipe does seem a lil excesive for wat it is

That would be for a top bollox never ever gonna leak job. I have an after market filter and used a fibre mesh pipe which was cheapish.

Another option is look for breakers and get landrover turbo intake pipes. Find a few 63 to 63 couplings. Available on ebay if you type in "alloy hose couplings". Bout a tenner each and you would need 2 maybe.
