Air intake and muffler advice?

hello!
i have a 2.5L v6 freelander 1 and i’m trying to come up with a way to put a cold air intake into my car. The way the intake is routed now is just into the side of the car right behind the head light, which to me seems like it’s suffocating it. Looking for advice on how i should go about this i need ideas. Also i’ve been wanted to put a different muffler on it to give a louder (moderate) sound without being too much so that i get droning on the highway. Any recommendations for mufflers would be great. my exhaust pipe diameter is 2.25 inches
