Hi all
I've aquired a set of truck type airhorns with a 12v solonoid....145db it says on the box and needs a minimum 80psi to work.
I was hoping to use the onboard air supply and was wondering if any of you know of anywhere to get hold a 't' peice to tap into the EAS supply.
Looked on fleabay and found an EAS pump up when its broke type kit but a lot of money for the couple of bits i need.
Come on boys help me out!!;)

Ta Carl

Thats nuts:eek: the EAS compressor is barely up to the job of keeping the suspension up never mind operating a farthorn:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

80 psi from eas compressor, can it really achieve over 5 bar..............................?

Yes..high pressure/low volume is easily done. Don't forget there is also an air receiver (Reservoir) in the system.
You can get 5 bar out of an old style foot pump..if yours is an automatic, there should be space on the floor pan where the clutch pedal should be to fit one. Or there is always the older rubber bulb type which uses no power from the engine/battery and can be considered "Environmentally Friendly":behindsofa:

It just sounds like a load of trouble to me, why bother when you can buy a tiny 12 volt tyre inflator that will produce 100psi for about 12 quid?:confused::confused:

Suppose if you were determined to go ahead, you could get a 6mm push in "T" piece capable of taking 160psi, short length of 6mm semi rigid tubing and put it into the line feeding the underbody reservoir. You would get those fom a Pneumatic supplier quite cheaply. Just another potential future source of leaks, in what is a system that lives on a knife edge at the best of times.
