Air flow sensor ?

Had my td5 on computer today and comes up as air sensor fault, on inspection the sensor only seems to have one thin wire, looks to have one snapped off is this usual? Car seems to run fine but sometimes hard to start especially when warm, Would it be ok to fit an after market sensor? Any advice appreciated....

Try to borrow one off someone first and see if it makes any differents
The cheap sensors are not very good and the genuine ones are pricey

Thanks mate, any idea if it should have two wire looking things inside or one?

Turns out the air flow sensor has a thin wire and a resistor, both missing on my old one.

buy a genuine one if funds allow.
