Air Conditioning Retrofitment

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has any experience or knowledge of retrofitting a full air con system to a 300 Disco? What is involved, how much work? Are the electrics all in place or does it need a special loom?

Why not do some research in a copy of Rave first instead of wondering "how much work" "what is involved" and then make up you own mind on if u have the time and skills.

Wiring is the least of you problems in retro- fitting a/c, whole of existing heater box has to be replaced first, plus the fitting of compressor pump, pipes, condenser and fans etc etc.

It is possible - I had my V8 retrofitted by a company in Brum who managed to find a complete original kit. It wasn't cheap though, ISTR around £1500 in the early 2000s.

Be cheaper to find one with air con and buy it

Dash out job to fit Evaporator into the air box.. then you'll need all the pipes, sensors and the pump itself and someone to vacuum it, test for leaks and pressurise it..

in short:
buy one with the system in already
