Hi Guys, This is baffling me now,the open book symbol on the HEVAC been showing for months and didnt bother me much as i live in da cold north, also thought the distribution blend motor had packed in as it didnt shift when prompted but as it was on window setting it didnt bother me, but i switched off the A/C as no point being on when not working, now the open book symbol has gone and the air distribution is spot on but if i switch A/C back on it reverts back to the faults.
Does anybody know what is happening? Is it needing re-gased?
Cheers.

The air distribution & temperature controls should work irrespective of whether there is gas in the system or not, but obviously you will not get the cold air that the aircon gives. Try switching the HEVAC control into manual mode by turning the knob around the auto button. The word "Auto" should disappear and a bar graph showing blower speed will be shown which increases/decreases as you turn the knob in either direction. You can then, using the lower buttons, select the air distribution to either floor, screen, or other options......does yours do this?...check and post result.

Hi,
Yes manual setting works ok, moves through settings good but only with A/C switched off, as soon as you push the A/C button on HEVAC to switch A/C on, the wee open book lights up and you cant shift air direction until you switch off the A/C button and the ignition, when you restart engine open book is gone and air settings move freelyagain.
Checked gas today by pushing in valves on bulkhead and none came out so booked in for pressure test to see if system is leaking or if only requires re-gasing (hears hopin)

Does it revert to AUTO mode when you switch the a/c button on (Remember that the light on the a/c switch is off when the a/c is on), or does it remain in Manual mode (Blower motor bar graph showing).

Get a pressure check done before you get the refrigerant put in to check for leaks. They should be able to either tell when they vacuum it down or they may fill the system with Nitrogen.
I have a sneaking suspicion that you may have a fault on the HEVAC unit itself, try and get it checked out with diagnostics.
In any event, if you get the gas sorted, it won't have to be emptied if there is a problem with the HEVAC.
Looking at your location, I take it that independant garages with Rovacom or Autologic are thin on the ground

Hi,
Yes your spot on, not many about, but being a small place can have advantages as friend owns a garage that has re-gasing equipment so he will do it @ mates rates, as for the HEVAC, i have one in my shed that i can use (temp rocker switch on pass side didnt work correctly so i bought replacement, only to find when i opened up original one it was only a bit of broken plastic jammin it,once i dislodged it it worked fine, always thought it would come in handy someday)
Cheers.
