thks, that’s what i was thinking , but now drill a hole through the side of the box, then the valve can be clipped to the outside of the box with the drainage hose in it so it’s neat and tidy

As long as You've got a pushfit inside the box then if you needed to lift the compressor out you can do it easily without unscrewing fittings and whatnot.

i’m convinced in my fittings box in the shed i’ve got a 3/8 union , saving money ;)

will be like my heating days , lol

can then later find a dryer assembly which i can fix on the side of the box, so it’s all neat and practical

Dryer? They are very expensive, I suspect you mean water trap- they don't dry the air just trap most but not all the moisture.

are they just for spraying plse , or always best to fit one regardless

A steel one would be a buggah to get out once it's rusted in I guess but there would be no reason to remove it again uñless you decided to re plumb stuff
A few yrs down the line.
My steel one has been in 30 yrs all still good.

Does your compressor come with a regulater? If it does you can get a simple stand alone water trap with no reg but from memory they weren't alot cheaper.
Don't buy the Lidl filter reg/oiler combo unless you use a separate airline just for air tools because the airline will get coated internally with oil. A few drops of air tools oil down the tool inlet every few hrs of use will suffice.
The lidl airline cassette looks vfm though.

hi

it does indeed come with a regulator

this is the set up it has , have taken out both the 1/4 inch quick release and will make it 3/8

still looking for a water trap without the reg , shame i couldnt take the guts out of the regulator, lol

will have a look at the lidl one

been thinking , yeh i know,lol

as i won’t be using a spray gun , only a dinotrol gun , about getting a combined water trap and oiler all in one and also they seemed to be designed in order they can be fixed to the side of the box etc

just wondered if there’s any disadvantages plse

as there’s 2 x outlets can easily keep one side free , ie if i want to blow brakes off etc and don’t want oil in the line

Have that reg fully open & just fit one of the type you show in your ebay link.
You can use a combined oiler/filter, just don't put any oil in it.
If you do use oil then don't use that airline for paintspraying.
A lot of moisture separators come with gauge & regulator as they are usually wall mounted in workshops at distance from the compressor with long runs of metal pipework.
Machine Mart do several without reg e.g: https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke--bsp-in-line-manual-drain-air-filter/
Ebay has similar from Hong Kong etc for around £10
My airline is just rolled up on an old portable garden hosepipe reel.

has indeed been a steep learning curve but thks to ur goodself and @neilly ive got a far better understanding

something similar i noticed from sealey, retailed £80 odd quid then on ebay is £22 , suprising of the large price difference

good idea ref the airline , think there should be enough room to store them inside the box where i’ve stored the compressor , then fix the regulator unit on the side so it’s all in one place

then just have to wheel it where i want

out of curiosity how hard is it to make up hoses with fittings please

i see u can buy very short pre made hose but working it out it’s alot cheaper making them urself

ie from the compressor to the water trap , just wondered if u guys may have done ur own hoses please

will buy premade longer ones

Easy.. hose, barbed fittings and the correct clips( I forget the name of the clips but they are sort of lemon shaped and you crimp them with pliers) can take a pic of one when I'm back home later if you need.
