these are the brackets i’ve got , as the box is ply i should get a decent fixing with screws , however if not will get some small bolts and use nylon nuts

just placed the brackets there as ideas , in order i can secure the top half wood surround

yeh i know i need to get out more just for a box, lol

If the compressor comes with PCL air line connectors change them for high flow ones which have about an 8mm bore PCL are about 5.5 to 6mm
volume is more important than pressure the less restriction you have the better

thks , have indeed changed the fittings to the euro ones, did compare them to the pcl ones and can see the difference

that’s another reason why i went with the 1/2 hose at the beginning, dont know how much restriction i will get from the combined water trap / oiler, also will fit 1/2 on that and then 3/8 the other side

been looking to see ref the euro quick release couplings how the different sizes compare , from 1/4 up to 1/2 ,as in restriction , but then not sure if the size of the euro fittings are also increased or a universal size

bought a premade 10m x 3/8 hose with the euro type connections , along with a 10m x 1/2 hose which i will make up myself , got the double ear fittings for that

outlets on the compressor are 1/4 so wished to ensure i got the biggest airflow possible from the start

thks again

3/8 should be fine for your compressor any bigger and it is just not supple enough in tight spaces 1/2 is not much smaller than
what they use for road drills on 600 cfm compressors
for what you want to you want to use it for the 14 cfm vee twin direct drive compressor would have been a better option
because they give about 10.5 fad i have used one of these for body repairs and spraying

many thks , think it only gives out 9.5cfm but should be ok for what i want it for, won’t be spraying , might use it for underseal etc

Modern spray gun use less air than other tools yours should give about 6.5 fad your tools will work but not for to long eg impact gun
you could link another tank to your compressor which will give a lot more volume

many thks , the impact gun that came with the kit i believe uses 4.5cfm

have been looking at some cordless and electric impact wrenches , but will see how it goes first ref the air gun

in the kit that came with the compressor, is a spray gun, grease gun, tyre inflator , impact wrench , air blow off gun

done abit more to the box

indeed have to finish things off, ie gauge , some clips, cut long bolts down, etc,

used some corner brackets for the wood and used bolts instead of screws

fitted a drain tube for the water trap, put some flexible hose in between so it can drop on it’s own , where i’ve got the pushfit fitting i need to find a male iron 1/4 elbow for the pressure gauge so it sits straight and easier to see

don’t think it looks tooooooooo bad

think for the pressure gauge a male one end and female the other will be ideal with a 30mm distance length on the male side of the elbow , just got to find the fitting

@Disco1BFG @Flossie

hi guys hope u didn’t mind me putting in a tag , just wondered what u thought please

still got bits to do, found a 3/8 female elbow so the water trap gauge can then be facing forwards and easier to see

drilled a hole in the end for the 1/2 hose so there wasn’t any chance of it kinking , put some conduit over the pipe as well so with the compressor running it doesn’t rub against the wood, done all corner bracing as well

as i’ve got plenty of 8mm plywood left over thinking of just cutting a piece for the lid, won’t be fitted when it’s running

thks again :D

Looks good to me Stuart:)
Just for info- you can fit a pushfit fitting into any of your gauges and, using the nylon tube, fit them anywhere more convenient rather than hard pipe them in.

No prob - nice to see this all coming together :)

water trap gauge can then be facing forwards and easier to see

Anything that makes it more usable gets my vote

doesn’t rub against the wood

 ..........................................................;):D

done all corner bracing as well

They look useful brackets - me likey :)

thinking of just cutting a piece for the lid

 - but don't forget to upholster it for comfort ;)

many thks and indeed when the female, male elbow turns up i should have enough pushfit fittings to move the gauge to a good position

as a side note it’s gary , not that it really matters, lol

thks again

many thks and thought u would like those brackets , had them left over when i was building my lean to and thought at least it will save buying some

i see u want the upholstered button effect , lol

once again appreciate the feedback
