air bubbles at base of injector

hello lads i,ll give it another bash:),i have air bubbles ****ing out around the base of no1 injector.i,ve tried tightening-no good.could this be contributing to my dodgy start probs?i,m in two minds whether to take it out but i,m ****ting meself just incase some caggy handed fooooker has cross threaded it.what d,ya fink
 
Seal has gon, don't know if you put heat to it, it will re anise it? and put it back and it will be as good as new, other than that you'll just have to replace it
 
I don't know if you know how its done or not, but you may have to quench it in water or air dry slowly, cant remember which one, i think its the first for copper, and it has to glow cherry red i think too, its been a long time since i did it, so i cant remember anyway goggle is your friend so do that read up and have a bash, im guessing there's no plastic or rubber bits in the injectors????????

Oh one thing, you cant just buy the washers, they don't do them, otherwise they would never make an easy profit otherwise would they??

I got mine from GFS, cheapest i could find, about 2 or 3 years ago

i have,nt a clue how to re anise copper:confused:.i,m presuming you apply a little heat and from what your saying quench it in cold water straight after?what exactly does this do.please forgive my ignorance but after coming top of class in woodwork you,ll understand why i,m scratching my head on this one:)
 
You can do it two ways either heat to dull red and let cool naturally in which case you will have soft copper with slag attached to it. Or the best way heat until dull red and quench in water which will soften it and leave it clean.

Unfortunately air cooling will harden copper, as will not getting it hot enough.
 
cheers lads,i,ll have a crack at it later on i,ll try quenching in water see how it goes,push come to shove i,ve sorted another inj if needs be.thanks again
