Advice wanted please

hi all im new to the forum and not sure if this post is in the rite place, ive got a 1993 MANUAL v8 petrol disco and wonderd where the location is to top the gear box oil up and how to do it and with what oil to buy ive read a few posts and they mention ATF any brand etc etc ?

many thanks in advance for any help/advice given:)

any atf dexron 2 or 3 will do ,filler plug is half way up rhs side of gear box case 1/2 inch square drive plug,drain and refill regulary at least yearly ,drain plug is on rhs side 32mm or 1 1/4 spanner and rear bottom strainer above plug 24mm or 15/16

thanks very much for the reply is there a pump or something needed to get the oil in
 
Yeah it can be done using the litre bottles with spout but you'll only get the first half litre in so you have to keep refilling the bottle if you get me cos you can't squeeze the last half out.

MUCH easier with an oil pump.

Don't forget of yours is a LT77 (reverse up/left) then there are two drains, the rear one with a filter that needs removing and checking)

thanks for your reply yes it is mate but now wondering if its better to get someone to do it as you may have guessed not mechanically minded:eek: anyone no a place in or around nottingham that can have a butchers
