Evening All,
My 1.8 . 02 freelander has a small problem (I hope)
On the propshaft there is a large metal ring which has come adrift and is spinning feeely when the shaft turns. Inside the ring are 4 metal plates and rubber parts, this should match up with the fixed part of the propshaft I thinks! Can this just be knocked back on, (maybe some Araldite to help) or is it more serious than I think?
Thanks for your time
Colin

If you dont go offroading take the prop off and throw it away, you'll get better fuel econemy and it'll drice nicer. If you want the prop on there then pay silly money for a new vcu.

The VCU damper can be replaced as per the eBay link buta chepaer option is to try to reset it - either use a good contact adhesive or a couple of self tappers - you may find that you end up unbalancing the damper which pretty much defeats the object!

Cheers

Blippie
