Just bought a LF2 2.2 td4 -34.5K miles, 57 plate. At the moment, it is running nicely and no obvious problems, but scanning the forum it seems like there are some mods I should get done to ensure I get a long life out of my new car. Grateful for any advice as to what I should ask to get done at an independent LR garage (I have no idea where to start myself) as I don't understand what the abbreviations stand for (at the moment :) )

Thanks for your help

Hi Jane,

Unfortunately I don't know much about the Freelander 2. However, what I can tell you is that many of the alarming threads in this specific forum are about the Freelander 1, not the Freelander 2. Make sure you don't get confused because the Freelander 2 is a completely different vehicle altogether.

When talking about a Freelander 1, people will often refer to it simply as a "Freelander". However, when talking about a Freelander 2, people will usually refer to it as a "Freelander 2". That should help prevent any confusion.

Cheers

Rich

Thanks Rich - I did know they were two completely different vehicles, but was getting slightly worried as it is not always clear as you say which one people are talking about on the forum :)

You can tell when a thread is about a FL1 because the words 'burn it' and 'head gasket' will appear..when its a fl2 the words 'hairdresser' and 'gay' are most common.

But your average hairdresser won't be able to afford a FL2! :rolly:

Isn't it strange how most of us here at Landyzone drive old Landys?
