hi guys
i have a 2000 p38 dhse
yesterday i found a couple of pools of what seems like oil on the oad where id been parked
on looking further it appears to be comming from the bell housing of the torque converter
the oil is amber (ish) and has no smell

i changed the atf about two years ago including the filters in the box

basically, my ar*e has fallen out because im woried this could be expensive

has anybody had this before, or something similar??
whats the best case, and worse case senario, and whats the next step

im handy with a set of spanners, but dont cherish the prospect of spltting the engine and box

any advice is VERY appreciated!!

thanks in advance

Nobody have any ideas?
A friend has just suggested replace seals in gearbox..

Is there a "stops leaks" type.additive.for the auto box to buy me some time to get round to doing this?

sorry no ideas for you mate but have a little patience for answers, most folk will be out either driving or fixing their landies on a Sunday morn/aft.

I'm sure you'll get plenty of responses later this evening. :p:D

Thanks guys.
Sorry to appear impatient, I noticed it yesterday and I keep leaving patches wherever I park.
Was getting very nervous of a possibly massive and expensive task ahead.

Well, I've been out and underneath it. I've traced the leak, which is coming from the engine. The leak just happens to drip from the bell housing.
The leak isn't atf fluid, its fuel. The reason I didn't realise its.fuel is because this tank I have a mix of diesel and veg oil so it doesn't have the smell!
I replaced number 4 injector a few weeks back and appears.to be coming from that. Will tighten up and hopefully jobs a good 'un.
I love the car but getting a little fed up of the spanner time. today was meant to be a relaxing day.....

Thanks for your posts guys and for anyone who read and a think.
