Quick question, which direction do I turn a Bosch injector pump once the bolts are loosened , to increase timing on a 200 tdi.
I’m trying to diagnose low power up hills and high egt’s .
Hope you can help .

Have you looked checked that the engine is timed correctly on the timing marks in the cam belt case?
200's will still run, but not well even if out a tooth.

second the above, I would be looking at timing correctly on the marks rather than just guessing at rotating the pump.

You do not turn the pump itself, you adjust timing via the three bolts on the inj pump pulley, accessed via the round plate (held on with three bolts) on the timing chest.
This depends on who did the cambelt last, as whilst the timing might be right, there could be zero adjustment left the way you want it.
Timing pin kits off ebay are circa 20 quid for the tdis.
