I may be asking something that everyone knows about but I am new to discos, right here goes,as I look at my disco with bonnet up, on the right side is a bottle with 2x black caps,what are they for ,and whilst you are there should the fluid in there constantly circulate at high speed, it looks like a vortex. any ideas.

front most is power steering res rear ace ,oil does circulate ensure they both are at level marked on res

The engine drives the pumps, so whilst it's running, as james says the oil does recirculate, so it could look like a vortex. Mine only has a bottle with one black cap - power steering - and yes it does that. The ACE system uses a high pressure pump I believe, so the oil recirculates faster (?).

Oh and WELCOME!! is it a V8 or TD5. Did it come with a handbook in the glove compartment? Might be a silly question to some, but most of us blokes never read the instruction manuals

hi guys see I did log back in thanks for the info I thought I might have a problem cos the guy that refitted my lpg injectors etc etc was not sure what it was and as for introducing myself what do you want to know, I am a 58 year old ex serviceman (army) who always wanted a v8 landy ,bought one got ripped off spent a fortune getting the LPG sorted and do not want anymore problems with her so I joined this forum to get some advise cos I don't think you can get a Haynes manual for these things or I would sort it meslf happy now lol

no,go to the section that says INTRODUCE YOURSELF.
