Today my ACE Warning light started to light up then off and then back on and now stays lit in yellow. Ive checked the related fuses but all look ok, can anyone advise me on the next steps and if its safe to drive ? Thanks in advance.

you need to read the fault code(not with nanocom as it might misslead you).... usually it's the pressure transducer or one of the solenoids on the valve block... eventually give a contact spray to the plugs there

Thanks sierrsfery. Any chance you could point me in the right direction to the plugs for contact spraying ? Sorry but new to landy's

look under the RH side around the middle of body and you'll see the modulator, it has 2 solenoids on top, one on a side and the transducer on the other which is the most common culprit but as it's not very cheap it's better to confirm the fault with a tester....see this www.discovery2.co.uk / ACE amber light - Pressure Transducer and the attachment, also you can isolate a bit the fault if you can identify the behaviour of the car while the warning is on i mean it's in "locked bars" or "floppy" condition cos according to that you can reduce the "range" of faults... if you dont have one download a RAVE and read Workshop manual - Front suspension - ACE description and operation - Failure modes and you'll understand ... check here Disc 1 land rover rave technical system , if it doesnt work try here http://www.landroverresource.com/docs/D2_Workshop_Manual.pdf

A big thanks for all your advice i will endeavour to ttry out your idea and let you know how i get on, one thing i did notice when the amber light comes on there seems to be a dull knocking noise from around middle of car somewhere ??

maybe the sound of the valve block when it goes to locked bars as the valves are all closing... swap relays R14(ACE) with R13(horns) in engine bay fusebox just to rule the relay out as if the solenoids are missing feed due to a intermnittent relay or some bad contact along the feed circuit all the valves will close at once cos they are NC all...and that might give a knocking noise

A big thanks for the feedback will try out tmro and let you know Steve.

I replaced the anti roll bar's with standard ones from another disco, removed the relay in the engine bay, also I linked the flow and return from the ACE pump so it just circulates the fluid so I didn't have to remove the pump and change the auxiliary belt etc
