I have a leak in my ACE system. Its leaking from the pump. I assumed it was the washers on the banjo joint, so replaced them.

But its made no difference, so tried again making sure everything was nice and clean, but still have a leak. Its not gushing out, but it will loose the entire reservoir of fluid over maybe 500 miles.

I have since replaced the belt with a shorter one that bypassed the air-con and the ace pumps, so that means its not leaking at the moment, but I'd obviously like to get it sorted.

Does anybody have any ideas what might be causing it? I was thinking if its not the washers, then maybe its the pump, and I should look for another one?

The pipe with the banjo joint was replaced about 18 months ago, so its not likely to be that, but its possible.

Have a look on the low pressure pipe, the one from reservoir to pump, maybe a circlip or damaged hose. If it was high pressure circuit it was easier to be diagnosed(all fluid gone in seconds, due to high pressure).

Will check but it seems to be running down the high pressure pipe side ( and pretty much getting everywhere in the vicinity if it). So I think it's a very small leak, but because of the high pressure it's significant.

Can the output on the pump get damaged so there us maybe a small scratch that can track fluid?

I wondered if it came loose and then got tightened too much.
