Abs whits end!!!! Help!!

I am coming to my whits end with my P38, and possibly my mechanic. 2 or 3 weeks ago the "3 amigos" came on and stayed on. It's the abs pump I'm told - replaced pump with a "quality" used one with 3 month warranty. Still the lights are on? Suggested that maybe the accumulator was faulty as pump was staying on - changed accumulator for brand new - pump still staying on? Suggested to change ABS ECU - changed ECU - pump still staying on? Today my mechanic thinks it's the pressure switch and has obtained a wiring diagram from Land Rover to verify wiring - would this be of any help, as if its the pressure switch, surely it'll be "another" pump to buy. Should I just bite the bullett and buy a brand new pump?? Or get a new mechanic - lol. Have been without the motor for about a week now and starting to look at alpina's!! Help would be appreciated on this matter before I sack of the whole idea of Range Rover

Dito James...:) Just read a few of your posts and it looks like your going round and round and just trusting the Land Rover mechanic who seems a little unsure where to spend your money next...kick him into touch and get the faults read.

because no fault codes came up! the 3 lights came on but no fault codes. I had the same thing with the EAS pump, lost total use of the air suspension, but no fault code, so bought a new eas pump, installed, and away we went again - but this problem is a real **** of a problem!!!!!
I seem to have a RR that likes to keep secrets!!!
 
apparently he used the land rover diagnostics which itself caused problems - when he plugged in, it said the car was a classic and not a P38 - anyone wanna buy a classic P38 - lol
Because of this, he then took it to an associate that currently works with LandRover to diagnose

If your pump is working which it plainly is you do not need a new pump. It sounds as 9if you have a dicky pressure switch. I have had this and was on my third pressure switch before I got it fixed. My "new" pressure switch was one off a scrap ABS pump which I bought for a tenner !
I also picked up a "new" but dicky pressure switch.
This last bit I'm guessing but it is possible that your pressure switch is stuck in the "on" position. I cut open a pressure switch and posted some pics some time back.

I might have been too hasty with my reply because if your pump is permanently on then your brake should be solid : if not then there is one or more other fault. The pump staying on is a distincet issue. Your pump itself is not defective.

When you say "solid" do you mean cannot depress the brake pedal, or solid as in great brakes. If it was just me in the car, wouldn't be so concerned, not that it's a good thing to drive with dodgy brakes, but brakes can fail at any time. But a fair amount of time, my son is with me and that's a different matter all together, hence it's been a week at the "mechanics" - just need the car back
The pump runs permanent as soon as I turn on until I turn off - what could that be. Spoke to mechanic and he said he can now get the lights turned out, but the pump still runs????
