Ok, i have had my dse for 7 years and had and cured 95% of my problem with help from this site thankyou, but i am not sure about this..i have removed my abs pump as its decided to die , when i seperated the pump from the motor there were a small quanity of brake fluid between them, i am not sure it should be there, and it looks like some got inside the motor and killed it, so the questing is, should that fluid not be there? .

I rang a dealer about a new abs pump and he quoted :eek: yes that much.

I am the same not sure but when you separated them was there a gasket or oring of some sort if so maybe that failed

Thankyou Datatek i will look them up, the brake fluid is not a problem as i am putting the pump and remains of the motor in the bin but i was just wondering.

DON'T BIN IT : take the pressure switrch off the bottom end : check the pump motor for running off the vehicle (from memory earth + black/green wire but check my thread on this about three years ago.) I think I have a functioning pump minus a pressure switch or with a duff switch. I'll need to check.

PM me : I might be able to help

The pump motor is no good, seperated the pump from the motor and the remains of the motor fell out, to be honest its my fault, i replaced the motor 6 months ago and i thought should that fluid be there, and now its done another motor.

I read the "how to test your abs pump" and when i earthed the black /yeallow i got 12v at the pump conection so pressure switch has died, strange the pump motor failed the same time, one must have killed the other.

I live in Soham Cambridgeshire by the way.

If the pressure switch fails and the motor runs constantly, the motor soon fails, I think there is a relay that can cause it as well, not in a position to check at the moment.
