ABS playing up

I no the abs problems have bin well documented but this 1 has got me stumped had abs fault an traction failure coming up. Thought it was a sticky abs pump so changed that and new accumulator tiill coming on so changed the buster block still the same.This is only happening intermittently as it will work ok when you press the brake then at random it will come up abs fault and won't clear till i switch the engine off and restart it.Then when i move off the dash lights go out. but if i stop and switch off the engine it come up abs/traction failure start up and move off and all's ok till the next time it comes up. THIS 1 GOT ME STUMPED WELL AND TRULY. Cant be the wheel censers? i don't think :confused:

Test the brake switch operation on diagnostics. If it only happens when you press brakes, that maybe your problem. Check for fault codes you cannot just guess.

And don't i no it lol but the last time i had it plunged in to a test book at my local range rover specialist??? not. It cost me a £1000 for a BECM told me it was u/s 3 days before we where away on hols towing a caravan in norfolk like a mug i had them fit a now one and it turns out to be a burnt earth from a badly installed charging unit that had bin fitted before i got the car.
But i will have a look at the battery as its 3-1/2 years old think ill get a
code reader from bearmach 4x4 center when i can afford 1

Checked the wheel censers for brakes in the wires all good QUESTION can you test the censers to make shore there working and how plz :confused:

The sensors don't often fail but the wiring and connectors can be a problem. ECU failure is also fairly common.
You can put an ohm meter across the sensor to check for shorts/open circuits.
The only way you can be really sure the sensors work is with diagnostics or an oscilloscope:)
 
thanks guys had them all out cleaned the cages and the holes well rusty greased with a bit of copper grease all it all way check it later fingers crossed gone get the battery tested later get a new 1 if it a bit lazy as i think it is:(

Picking up an ECU from breakers later today £50+vat better than £284.00 for a new one. let you all no how it works out fingers crossed lad
 
Ok fitted the new ECU but still the same. So that it don't no what i can do to sort this problem now. anyone got a match :mad:
