Hello Campers,
Bit of a bone question this one, (should go down well on here...:p ) Hippo's been in for the old MOT yesterday, came back with duff tyre, back box and numberplate, not too bad really, then also came in with ABS Light illuminated/not extinguishing. Call me a tw*t, but doesn't the ABS light stay on until you first hit 5-10mph? As far as I remember, the light has always done this, it could be because my local garage has a new keenie mechanic, but there has been no probs with the light doing this for the last 4 MOT's. Finally, the question: They want it down in writing from LR that the light does this before giving me a MOT, anyone know where it sez about the lamp extinguishing, sure its in the manual somewhere....

Mornin tw@t:p (you said i could)

On the earlier models the ABS light dose sometimes stop on for a few turns of the wheels, this is due to the type of sensors fitted to the wheels, Its cause by the puter bit not being able to recieve a signal from them (therefore test them) untill the wheels start to turn. the later models have a different sensor, which allows them to be tested whilst at standstill.
So as long as your light goes outonce you start moving, Its just normal operation.

Tw*t here,
Cheers Mondo, thats exactly what i thought, now I've just got to find it in Landrover headed writing to show the muppet at the MOt centre, or he won't give me an MOT, friggin jobsworth:mad: I've already told him to roll it across their carpark, and the light'll go off, but ****a won't ave it...

Ta Guys,
I'll tell him to read the manual, As is normal, mine's in the motor, my rave disc is at home & I'm stuck in london fightin' fires and righting wrongs....;)

Mad Hat: pick a vowel mate, A, I or O works for me:D
