ABS light on steady, 1995 Classic 4.2

After gutting the the dash, center console and steering column to replace the heater core, got it all back together. Now working out the punch list. Before all the R&R the ABS light and TC light used to alternately come on and off as breaking and speed varied. Now the TC light goes on and off but the ABS light stays on steady. Breaking appears to be normal and I hear the compressor turn on and off for short periods. We had a few warm days so I can't find an icy patch to test the anti skid function. I do have 3 brake lights on the rear as normal. Any ideas?
 
Blink code? Sounds like I need to invest in some kind of diagnostic tool. Kind of expensive investment to help a neighbor. But, life is difficult, not fair. Thank you for the reply.
 
No,its a paper clip and watch the abs lamp blink.There is a list of codes.Do a search on just about any Land Rover forum and you will find it.
 
OK. I am getting a picture. Sounds like I need to put in a "paper clip" jumper then count the blinks of the abs light (hopefully not Morse Code). Then somewhere I can find the fault based on the number of blinks.

I cautiously ask; where do I insert the jumper?

Bad day today. The rotary knob that is used to direct the airflow through the louvers about the cockpit suddenly just turns without changing the air flow. The wire and sheath if firmly attached at the HVAC matrix. In the process of removing the center of the dash to get at the back of the heater control panel. I hope nothing broke.
 
Thank you for your responses. I read the blink codes (4) and cleared them all. They all point to the sensor air gap, right front, being excessive. The recommendation is to try tapping it into place. I looked in Rave. It shows a picture of the location of the sensor and the procedure for removal and replacement of the sensor. Rave does not describe tapping on the sensor but does say upon replacement of the sensor, turn the wheels from lock to lock to set the air gap. This confuses me somewhat.

How big a hammer do I use to tap the front sensor? Probably should use a drift of some kind to miss the wiring. Any advice?

Use a very small hammer and gently tap the sensor in If it is going to move it will take verry little effort When you have done this Drive your motor in forward gear for about 30 seconds and if the taping worked you should be ok This worked on my Discvery

Yeah Team! The problem is solved. I used a large pin punch as a drift and tapped around the shoulder of the sensor using a small hammer. Got a solid ringing sound but I felt no movement. I put the wheel back on and on test drive the light went off after a very short distance. In the Air Force we called such solutions FM. The M is for magic.
